Clearly, we haven't been giving priority to this blog ever since we thought about it and we blame our school's requirements for that but this June, we'll be graduating and so we've got more time on our hands which means we'll definitely be updating this blog more than ever! It's great to feel free and know that all the hard work we have put in for college is finally going to pay off! and yes, Gino and Erika are classmates or were classmates *shiver* in college. Eeek! it's finally over and we honestly can't believe it's fast approaching us!

GRUB

She says:
I'm seriously going to do my happy toes dance after our graduation ceremony!
Anyways! Gino and I tried out Mr.Jones the other day because I found out that it's a part of the Rain Tree group of companies and I absolutely love their restaurants and the food they create! Once we got to Mr.Jones the staff was accommodating enough, they sat us down and gave us time to go over their menu. Mr.Jones is supposed to be an american diner themed restaurant so they had the whole american diner shebang going on with the mini juke box placed on some of the tables and the cute colored walls. It actually felt like a good restaurant to go to if you wanna feel like Carrie from the Carrie Diaries! Anywho we decided to get the "Messy Orange Soda Baby Back Ribs" and the "Deep Fried Sweet Pickle Chips" which was under their Mr.Jones Blue Plates and was good to share.

He says:
I know exactly what I'm going to do after graduation, EAT! Hell yeah because thats the best thing to do after a 3 hour program. But anyways, back to the blog. Like what Erika mentioned, we went to Mr. Jones. The place was really nice and it had a feel good diner vibe. It kind reminded me of Mel's Diner back home in SF. So I was pretty excited to try out the food. After all, I love comfort food!

American diner vibes at their restaurant!

The fried pickles

She says:
Okay so the fried pickles were okay they weren't exactly divine and mouth watering but it was just okay. Honestly if you had asked me if I would order it the next time I would go to Mr.Jones, I wouldn't. I would have expected their batter to taste better. It was a bit bland if you ask me and if it weren't for the taste the pickles gave, I would have stopped eating it.

He says:
I ordered this as an appetizer and I loved it. But reading from Erika's review, she lied to my face when she said she liked it! How could you not like fried pickles?? They're fried pickles! The crunch from the batter and the sourness of the pickle, it was absolutely perfect! But don't eat it too fast or else you'll burn your tongue. I know exactly how that feels...

The orange soda ribs

She says:
Hmmm how do I explain the look on our faces when this was brought to our table? The portion! I was a girl PMS-ing and my appetite doubles up like a beast when I eat! so when this came out, it was just this thought "how the eff are we suppose to share this? this looks like it's good for one!" that was running through my mind. Their menu said good to share and it had like what? 4 ribs?! Anyways we decided to eat this first and order again later on if we felt hungry afterwards. The taste made up for the portions and remained true to the description on the menu, you taste the orange in your mouth after a few bites and the meat wasn't dry at all, in fact, they were tender and were marinated well. The orange flavor was just right because it didn't overwhelm the barbecue sauce at all. The Mac and cheese on the other hand was also yummy and complimented the ribs. It really did feel like comfort food, actually! They were cooked just right too and the cheese sauce serving was very generous. So in terms of taste this dish was yummy!

He says:
When you look at that plate, does it look like it's good for sharing? I don't think so! How are you going to write good for sharing and give a ridiculously small portion? SMH. But I can say that the ribs were amazing and the macaroni and cheese was heavenly, I just wish they gave more. They're lucky we weren't super hungry or else my girlfriend would have threw a fit...at me. Just kidding! Love you baby! :) Overall the restaurant was good. I'd like to go back there and try the other items.

GRIND

He says:

Overall the food we had wasn't that bad calorie wise. The only thing that we had to look out for was the fried batter of the pickles, the sauce of the ribs, and the carbs and dairy of the mac and cheese. A 45 minute cardio session and basic resistance exercises should do the trick to burn of the calories we ate.

she says:
p.s. We promise to do this ourselves hehe and post photos of us looking ugly and tired after sweating the calories :s Aaaaand my boyfriend will post a detailed program of the work out :)
